So who is Jesus?
Jesus himself once asked a similar question of His disciples. He asked, ‘who do people say that I am?’ After being given various answers Jesus then asked them, ‘but you, who do you, say that I am?’ Peter was the disciple who answered. He said, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God!’
It’s still the most important question 2000 years later.
Jesus died upon a cross, He was buried in a tomb, and then three days later He rose from the dead. Now He offers forgiveness of sin and the free gift of eternal life. Not only that, He offers the opportunity of a real, lasting relationship with God right now!
Jesus didn’t come to the earth to establish another “religion” but to provide the opportunity for people to to have a relationship with our creator God. How amazing is that!
The Jesus we read about in the bible shows us what God is really like. Jesus is God come in the flesh. Jesus was full of grace, compassion, wisdom and mercy yet also raised the dead, healed the sick, fed five thousand people in one day and walked on water!
At Thrive Church Central Coast we would love to show you how to connect to Jesus and how to have a daily, intimate relationship with Him.
More about what we believe
We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.
We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.
We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.
We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth’ we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.
We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful life that God intends for us, we need to be baptised in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues.
